Something to Smile About
Manor Dental Associates moves into a new, state-of-the-art facility

There’s a new reason to smile in North Wales. Located within a group of professional buildings that are reminiscent of old farm houses, Manor Dental Associates, a dental practice dedicated to family and cosmetic dentistry, is now open on Lower State Road in North Wales. The practice, in its new state-of-the-art dental office suite, had its grand opening in February 2010.

Founding partner Joseph A. Castor, D.M.D. has been practicing dentistry over 14 years, and describes his practice philosophy as “patient-driven and personalized.” Dr. Castor owned a dental practice for 10 years in Huntingdon Valley, and made the decision to move to North Wales to better serve the needs of the patients.

“We outgrew that space and parking was a problem for my patients,” says Dr. Castor, who was born and raised in Montgomery County. “I started looking around Bucks and Montgomery Counties for a new location and really thought this North Wales location met our needs best.”

Although many of his patients have followed him to his new location, he is also welcoming new patients to Manor Dental Associates. Dr. Castor says the new location serves a community with young families and expanding neighborhoods. “This area is growing and it is a wonderful location. There are so many great towns in Montgomery and Bucks county, and I feel that our office is a wonderful complement to the area,” he says.

The new office is truly state-of-the-art, with digital x-rays and other diagnostic equipment, spacious treatment rooms, a comfortable patient lounge, and more. “Even though the office is very professional with all modern amenities, it is very welcoming and homey,” says Dr. Castor. “I think the surroundings are very calming.”

Manor Dental provides services that include all aspects of general dentistry including; preventative care, comprehensive dental exams, cleanings, tooth colored restorations, treatment of periodontal disease, extractions, oral surgery, tooth whitening, implants, veneers, crown and bridge work, root canal therapy, dentures, and laser dentistry. Manor Dental accepts a variety of insurance plans and offers flexible payment plan options.

Dr. Castor received his D.M.D degree from the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Dr. Castor was also a faculty member of Temple University School of Dentistry and is currently a consultant member of the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners. As an examiner, he grades and evaluates the periodontal and restorative aspects of the Board exam, which all dentists must pass in order to practice in Northeastern states. Along with the new practice in North Wales, Dr. Castor is an associate partner in two upscale practices in Naples, Fla.

Prior to the North Wales and Huntingdon Valley practices, he also was an associate with a large, busy dental practice in Montgomery County.

“I like a smaller practice settling because I am able to give more individual attention to each of my patients,” he says.

Dr. Castor’s associate, Lisa M. Perrotta, D.M.D., is also a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Perrotta continued her dental education at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she completed a two-year general practice residency, and was named chief resident. Throughout her residency, Dr. Perrotta had extensive training in all aspects of general dentistry with a focus on implant dentistry. "As a dentist at Manor Dental, I strive to provide the highest quality of dentistry," she says. “Our main goal each day is to give our patients a reason to smile.”

The staff at Manor Dental Associates is dedicated to ensuring a pleasant office experience for patients, and providing exceptional service.

Patient comfort and care are the priorities at Manor Dental, says Dr. Castor. He considers himself easy-going and approachable, and says he often makes small talk with patients to ease their fears or nervousness.

“It’s common to be uneasy when you visit the dentist,” Dr. Castor says. “I try and treat patients the way I would like to be treated if I were in that chair. I try starting a conversation and making them feel they can ask me questions or explain things to them if they have uncertainty or confusion.”

Manor Dental sees patients of all ages. “I recommend that parents bring children in around age three,” says Dr. Castor. From there, he said twice-yearly cleanings and dental exams are recommended through adulthood. On average, patients of the age 9 or 10, he said, a visit to an orthodontist is advisable, to maintain proper growth and development.

Manor Dental has an excellent relationship with local dental specialists to ensure proper followup and maintenance. Also of note, Dr. Castor and Dr. Perrotta are Invisalign® certified dentists. They are also trained in the LingualWirelign(TM) procedure, developed by a local orthodontist. LingualWirelign(TM) offers a concealed orthodontic solution for patients that do not want the look of traditional braces, when full braces are not necessary.
For patients that may be new in town, or those looking to make a change to try a new dentist, Dr. Castor welcomes patients in for a consultation or an office tour.

“I would be happy to meet patients and answer questions about my experience, my practice and my dental services,” he says.
