Have It All
Applecross Country Club offers residents the ability to enjoy all the privacy and amenities of a resort, with the convenience of an established neighborhood

The choice between living in a new community or an existing neighborhood often means deciding whether to sacrifice convenience for views, neighbors for privacy, entertainment for peacefulness or charm for modern amenities. At Applecross Country Club, though, residents can have it all.

Located in Downingtown, Applecross Country Club is the newest community being built by Pulte Group Inc., one of the nation’s largest home builders and one of the top-ranked firms for customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power and Associates New-Home Quality Study.

The community is located close to the towns of West Chester and Exton, each featuring a vibrant retail and dining scene. Its Downingtown location also offers residents easy access to regional transportation. The city is home to both an Amtrak and SEPTA station and is near the corridors of Route 30 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Residents can travel quickly to their jobs, schools or entertainment centers.

Applecross Country Club offers so many on-site amenities though that there is no reason to travel far. The community is home to an 18-hole Nicklaus Design golf course—one of the few in Pennsylvania—a clubhouse, restaurant, pro shop and the Eric MacCluen Golf Academy. Special deals are available for residents of the Applecross Country Club community and the homeowner’s association owns a private clubhouse for the exclusive use of its members. This facility includes a 12,000-square-foot wellness center, spa, indoor and outdoor pools and lighted tennis courts.

The homes themselves offer something for everyone, too. In a planned community of 900 homes, there are townhouses, single-family homes, estate homes and one-story living options. “This variety is important to a community because it attracts different buyers,” says Paul Schneier, division president of the Northeast Corridor for Pulte Group. “It brings the neighborhood to life quickly and provides diversity. It is nice to be in a community with young professionals, growing families and empty nesters—a multigenerational community.”

The townhomes are approximately 1,700 square feet, featuring three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms with an open design. The community’s detached single-family homes range in size from 2,000 to 2,500 square feet. Either of these options, which begin in the mid-$200,000 range, are ideal for singles and young couples. The estate single-family homes are great for growing families, according to Schneier, while the one-story living options are designed for those who do not want to live with stairs and empty nesters or those looking to consolidate their homes. They are not, however, age restricted and anyone can choose this style of living. Pricing for the estate homes begin in the upper $300,000s and one-story homes start in the mid-$200,000s. All of Applecross Country Club’s homes contain a garage and are professionally landscaped.

Endless Options

Currently there are 70 townhomes, 70 small single-family homes, 50 classic single-family homes and 120 one-story living options. “We try to have a few homes ready in each product line for people relocating or who have sold their home and need to move in quickly,” says Schneier, “but there is tremendous opportunity to choose a lot and a home design to build in Applecross Country Club.”

The property offers magnificent vistas of the golf course. Buyers can choose views of the tees, fairways, water or open space to be the setting for their home. Building their new home also offers these owners the ability to select the design, floor plan and options that best suit their needs. Applecross Country Club offers a variety of styles and elevations, including options for brick, stone or siding, covered porches, basements and lofts. Upgrades such as a gourmet kitchen, molding and paint selection allow owners to customize the home for their style. Indoors and out, each home can be unique.

“Applecross Country Club offers the rare opportunity to live in a golf community,” says Schneier. “Whether they are a golfer or not, residents enjoy the vistas, open space and privacy, while enjoying all the amenities you could want from a resort.”
