Every January 1, an estimated 40 percent of people make one or more resolutions to change for the better in the year ahead. Research by the University of Scranton, however, suggests that a scant 8 percent of people ultimately achieve those goals. The inability to reach these goals is due to many factors, among them the fact that proper nutrition and a healthy exercise regimen aren’t always enough to transform a person’s body. As a result, individuals can feel frustrated, depressed and overwhelmed, without hope that they can achieve the change they seek.
Earl M. Bryant, D.O., founded Physician Transformations LLC, in proud to help just this sort of patient. As Dr. Bryant says, “When you can make a positive change, it translates to a greater general appreciation of life, well-being and happiness.” Physician Transformations specializes in minimally invasive body contouring procedures and, as a full-service medical aesthetics practice, offers a bevy of solutions to help patients meet their aesthetic goals.
Many of Physician Transformations’ patients are already doing the right things—namely, exercising and eating right. Nevertheless, certain troublesome areas of fat, including stomach pouches, muffintops, saddlebags, gynecomastia (male breasts), love handles and double chins, seem to remain no matter what. These types of patients are ideal candidates for body contouring.
“It makes a huge difference for [people] to wake up and look in the mirror and like what they see,” says Dalia, Dr. Bryant’s office manager. “As much as we want to focus on who we are as people on the inside, in reality it is a combination. What we see on the outside informs how we feel inside and vice versa. We are physical as well as mental beings.”
Physician Transformations can offer patients help with aesthetic enhancement via full-body liposculpting, using the latest liposuction and laser technologies to help patients meet their goals.
One such option is SmartLipo, which uses a small laser to melt fat and tighten skin, and Vaser Liposelection, which uses ultrasound. “Both these techniques help to extract fat more safely and with better overall results,” Dr. Bryant adds. The instruments used for these procedures are no bigger in diameter than a piece of uncooked angel hair pasta, and the incision needed is the size of a freckle. As an added plus for patients, these procedures take place on an outpatient basis and without general anesthesia. Patients are relaxed using oral medication and are awake and comfortable for the procedure.
With minimally invasive Smartlipo and Vaser, patients can obtain dramatic results with minimal downtime. For those patients who are looking for a completely noninvasive way to contour their bodies, Dr. Bryant offers CoolSculpting, a revolutionary body contouring technique whereby stubborn fat is frozen and eliminated in a single one hour session.
Dr. Bryant, who has received extensive training in aesthetic medicine, is an associate of organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society of Liposuction Surgery and the American Society for Laser and Medicine in Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He also serves as part of the clinical staff at Albert Einstein Medical Center, training residents and practicing several days a week.
Through the course of all this work, Dr. Bryant has also come to be a specialist in helping patients achieve aesthetic improvement via procedures such as laser facial rejuvenation, laser hair removal, spider-vein treatments, state-of-the-art skin treatments, Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels and a variety of medical-grade skincare products. Physician Transformations also utilizes fractional CO2 laser resurfacing technology to perform 20-minute, in-office procedures that can tighten skin, minimize fine lines around the mouth and eyes, lighten age spots and unwanted pigmentation, and even shrink pores.
“We all have our issues,” Dr. Bryant says. “Fortunately, we can take care of some of those issues.”
Dalia adds that Dr. Bryant uses a subtle hand in all he does. “We don’t want anyone to know by looking at you that you had work done,” she says. “We want people to compliment you on how great you look and for them to have no idea why you look so good.”
One patient, Amanda Martinez, came to Dr. Bryant with concerns about stubborn love handles. She says that she met with several doctors, but it wasn’t until sitting down with Dr. Bryant that she felt immediately comfortable. “I just got that feeling,” says Martinez, whose name has been changed to protect her privacy. “He explained everything; I felt like I was talking to a friend. He has a different demeanor than most.”
Martinez has since referred friends and family to Physician Transformations, knowing that they will receive the same great service—and the same results—she did. “I felt like I had more personal care; I wasn’t just another patient,” she says. “Even during the follow-up, I felt I was getting the attention I deserved and the treatment I was paying for.”
“We take pride in the fact that we are hands on,” Dr. Bryant adds. “When you are a patient, you are working with our office intimately. Our dedicated staff develops relationships, and I do all the procedures myself. We are a small but busy practice; we take care of each individual.”
Patient Mark Schafer, who sought Dr. Bryant’s expertise with gynecomastia patients, can attest to this. Schafer’s chest had always been a source of embarrassment for him but, after the treatment by Physician Transformations, he says he became a new man. “I no longer try and hide from the world. My posture has improved because I am not afraid to show my chest,” he says. “I am more self-confident and happier overall.”
Schafer and Martinez are just two examples of patients who have followed through with their own resolutions to improve their quality of life through aesthetic enhancement from Physician Transformations. As Dalia says, “More than getting patients through the door, we want them to get good results. We want them to be happy.”
