Warming Up

While our minds have eagerly begun shifting towards warmer thoughts and milder weather temperatures, Punxsutawney Phil is predicting a possible six more weeks of winter—meaning, it’s not quite time to pack up your coats. And though we’re still not entirely sure what 2017 has in “store” for us, we do know for certain the area’s boutiques come through on the style front. Whether you want to layer heavy or lighten up, we have a jacket for every type of outfit and weather.

Clara Sunwoo Vegan Leather Zip Jacket
While fall is arguably the season for leather jackets, they’re ideal for winter and even into spring as well. Make the most of this staple by pairing it with a cozy knit, your most loved denim and coordinating leather booties.

Ciao Milano Trench Coat
For those less predictable days when snow turns to rain, it’s better to opt for this water resistant trench coat to avoid the damp sogginess of a wool jacket. Its lightweight material allows it to comfortably layer over even the bulkiest of sweaters. The convertible sleeves and funnel zip collar hiding the hood makes this jacket a must-have in our book.

Eileen Fisher Puffer Coat (pictured)
Although this cold weather necessity is at the top of your list for items to be packed away until next year, you might want to re- think doing just that. Not only has it yet to go out of fashion, but the puffer is making a huge comeback in chicer, more-flattering styles—which could be practical for staying warm in these predicted additional six weeks of winter. This piece from Eileen Fisher is just one example of the reinvented puffer, with slimming vertical pleats and a length grazing just above the knee. Ideal for keeping warm in the snowiest of blizzards, or even for everyday wear.

Eileen Fisher Kimono Jacket
If it’s a close call between wearing a cardigan sweater or jacket, let this jacket serve as both. A removable pin allows this slouchy hybrid to be worn draped open or loosely closed. As the saying goes, have your (cardigan) and (jacket), too.
