‘Our Time’
Men and women of a certain age realize the magic of possibility at retirement communities throughout the Philadelphia area.
Allan Bozorth had spent several years living outside of the Philadelphia area—in northern Virginia, to be precise—but something drew him back.
When he sought out a new place to call home, he set his sights on continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in the Philadelphia suburbs. He knew he wanted to live in a community that offered a high quality of living, and one what would take care of him if his health ever changed. He also sought a place that would present plenty of opportunities to meet new people, have fun, and stay in shape—and still be close enough to local shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.
He was surprised by what he found once started looking around, mulling his options.
“I didn’t know much about CCRCs,” says Bozorth, who chose Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester. “I found out that this area seems to be like the center of mass for CCRCs in the whole United States.”
His point is a good one. The city, suburbs, and surrounding areas have an abundance of life-care communities offering the continuum of care, thereby enabling residents to lead enriching, engaging, and even exciting lives.
