Physicians in the Greater Philadelphia Area earn high marks for their devotion to patient care, education, and the community at large.
Few people can say they enjoy going to the doctor, in much the same way few relish the idea of sitting in a dentist’s chair. But doing so not only has the potential to improve one’s quality of life but also even save a life. Luckily, the Greater Philadelphia Area has an abundance of A-list physicians who are capable of addressing any health need, from the preventative to the emergent.
Earlier this year, we ran a months-long reader poll asking for perspective on the area’s top physicians. Readers’ recommendations are outlined on the following pages, and we also included some selections of our own, based on recent stories we have done on health professionals known for their devotion to patients’ health, wellness, and education, as well as their commitment to the community at large. We vetted each individual based on five criteria:
* Are they licensed and insured in their field?
* Do they have advanced training in a specific area of specialty and/or board certification?
* Are they affiliated with notable professional organizations to help them stay abreast of changes in technology and techniques that may improve patient outcomes?
* Do they commit to continuing education?
* Are they doing their part to improve the community through philanthropic commitments and/or delivering healthcare services to those most in need?
One point worth clarifying: While a number of the professionals and organizations featured in this article do advertise in Suburban Life, inclusion on this list was not based on their willingness to advertise. We present our 2019 “Five-star Physicians.”
