Miraculous Results
At Miracle Dental Center in Bucks County, Dr. Irina Frolov and her staff take a modern, caring, and comprehensive approach to delivering life-changing smiles.

A young woman sits in the examination chair of Irina Frolov, D.D.S., and opens her mouth, as patients tend to do when they visit a dentist’s office. In this case, however, the patient is doing so not in anticipation of the dental work that’s about to begin. Rather, the patient opens her mouth to say “thank you” for her transformed smile, all due to the artistry, care, and precision of Dr. Frolov and her compassionate staff.

Dr. Frolov, owner of Miracle Dental Center in Trevose, has spent most of her adult life creating healthy, functional, and aesthetically pleasing smiles—and receiving heartfelt words of gratitude in return. Such gestures have become commonplace at Dr. Frolov’s office, as an increasing number of patients express their appreciation for the many ways in which she has affected their lives.

“I get as excited as my patients,” Dr. Frolov says. “It’s the same feeling whenever I can do something to change someone’s smile. I’m not just giving them back their smiles. Many times, they’re also getting back their social life and the confidence to go to that interview for that job because they have a beautiful smile. I feel like I did a miracle for them.”

Dentistry runs in the family for Dr. Frolov, who was born in Ukraine. She credits her grandmother, a dental surgeon, for inspiring her to pursue a career in dentistry.

“She was a dental surgeon in the Soviet Union during World War II,” says Dr. Frolov. “When I was little, she would tell me stories about how she was able to save the lives of soldiers by saving their teeth and jaw. I even used to play with her surgical instruments, many of which I still own.”

Dr. Frolov has continued the family tradition at Miracle Dental Center, which provides the full scope of general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry to residents of Bucks County and surrounding areas. Services include extractions, root canals, periodontal therapy, composite restorations, bonding, crowns, and veneers, among others. Dr. Frolov also offers treatment for bruxism, or teeth grinding, as well as Invisalign and teeth whitening. In addition, she provides Botox therapy, which has become another area of specialty after becoming certified in aesthetic and therapeutic procedures.

Her approach to state-of-the-art care utilizes the newest diagnostic technologies. Three-dimensional imaging, for example, allows her to gain a better view of the mouth and surrounding structures, for purposes of treatment planning. She is also in the process of purchasing an intraoral scanner, which captures high-definition images of the hard and soft tissues, as well as restorations. Also, each of the three dental suites has a large, flatscreen television on which patients can view the dental work being done, if they choose.

“Our slogan is, ‘Modern Dentistry in Gentle Hands,’” she says. “The scanners, which will help with crowns and bridges and Invisalign, are designed to improve the patient’s experience. We take care of their total health, not just their mouth. When we do an exam, we’re not only checking their teeth, but also doing [oral] cancer screenings. I can give them a diagnosis before they go to see a medical doctor. If there’s anything we can do to improve a patient’s health, we’re going to do it.”

Hard Work Pays Off
Dr. Frolov received her degree in general dentistry at Ukraine Dental University in 1995. In 2014 she earned her D.D.S. from New York University College of Dentistry, where her son, Alex Tyurin, is currently a fourth-year student. He intends to join his mother’s practice upon graduation next year.

“When I came to the U.S., I barely spoke and understood English,” Dr. Frolov recalls. “But I could not think about doing anything else but dentistry, so I began my challenging path to become a dentist. I studied English and took the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and board examination while working as a dental assistant to better understand American dentistry.”

In her downtime, she read articles and books to keep up to date with the latest innovations in dentistry. She also created a model from extracted teeth so she could refine her skills. When she presented the model to the New York University College of Dentistry admissions committee, a professor was extremely impressed and told her she was exactly the person NYU needed. Her hard work paid off, as she ranked among the top students in patient management and received a letter of recognition from the college dean.

She furthered her education while working as an associate at an area dental practice. It was during this time she discovered her affinity for facial aesthetics. She has since received a certificate from the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics.

“It was my new passion,” she adds. “I included in my arsenal Botox and filler treatments that I can use also in dentistry by helping patients with grinding and TMJ pain.”

No matter the need, patients of Miracle Dental Center always benefit from the warmth of a friendly, knowledgeable staff, as well as exceptional care delivered in a modern, spacious office.

“We also have music for the patients, but many of them bring their own music and headphones,” Dr. Frolov says. “We do all we can to make our patients feel comfortable. From the moment people walk through the door, we make sure we listen to their concerns. We take so much time to answer their questions and discuss treatment options. And we know all our patients by name.”

Patients willingly share their thanks in return. Surely, Dr. Frolov’s grandmother would be very proud.
