More Than a Pretty Face
Connolly Dermatology is highly regarded in the field of clinical dermatology in addition to cosmetic dermatology.
The skin is not only the body’s largest organ, but also quite vulnerable. Naturally, it requires capable care to protect its appearance and long-term health.
Connolly Dermatology has been treating a wide range of conditions pertaining to the skin, as well as the hair and nails, for more than 25 years. A family-run enterprise with multiple locations across the Delaware Valley, Connolly Dermatology enjoys treating patients of all ages, from those who are just a few months old to those who are over 100.
A team of practitioners led by board-certified dermatologist Coyle S. Connolly, D.O., specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, which is on the rise. Through early in-office detection and curative treatment options, Connolly Dermatology’s medical team is well equipped to treat existing cases of skin cancer and help patients protect themselves against recurrences.
In addition, Connolly Dermatology offers cosmetic treatments tailored to each patient’s rejuvenation goals. Neurotoxins such as Botox, dermal fillers such as Juvéderm, and chemical peels are just a few of the in-house treatments performed by the practice’s experienced clinical team. The practice has also developed a line of medical-grade, cost-effective skincare products to help patients maximize their results with at-home regimens.
We spoke with Dr. Connolly about the growth of his practice, what patients can expect from treatment, and other information to keep in mind when choosing a dermatology practice to help keep the skin healthy and beautiful.
Q&A
What do you feel sets you and your practice apart?
While many dermatology practices have shifted more to the cosmetic side of medicine, we at Connolly Dermatology have always made skin cancer and general dermatology our primary focus. This focus on clinical medicine, however, has not diminished our drive to provide the latest cosmetic treatments to those seeking healthier-appearing skin. We are a platinum-awarded group that is recognized as one of the top injection providers in the nation.
What can patients expect in terms of treatment and the experience your practice provides?
Friendly, professional, efficient service are the hallmarks of our practice. Our medical team will take the time to explain the findings and elaborate on all treatment options, with the goal always being an informed and satisfied patient. Connolly Dermatology accepts most insurances, which allows better access for all patients. Since we have multiple offices located throughout Southern New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Delaware, we are convenient to most of our patient population. Our state-of-the-art skin cancer treatments range from Mohs surgery to nonsurgical superficial radiation therapy, also known as SRT.
In addition to your clinical work, you’re also a professor, teaching the next generation of dermatologists. What do you like most about the work you’re doing, both as a clinician and as an educator?
Helping people of all ages is what drives us. Sometimes it’s a teen suffering from the stigma of acne and scarring. Other times it’s someone fearful that they may have a cancerous mole or growth. Whatever the situation, being able to give them relief and set their mind at ease is the most rewarding part of our jobs. A good doctor is a good listener and teacher. Being able to share expert knowledge during a patient visit or in front of a medical peer group is equally rewarding.

What role does education play in your interactions with patients?
An informed patient is able to more readily make the best decisions for their health. Our job as clinicians is to convey sometimes confusing and complex medical information to the layperson. Patients want a direct educational approach that presents the best options while they are contemplating their diagnosis and treatment.

Please tell us about the practice’s expansion, and how its growth enables the practice to better serve patients throughout the area.
In this sometimes chaotic world, most people are looking for two things: quality and convenience. With multiple offices throughout the Delaware Valley area, we have brought this quality and convenience to a nearby town.
