While many facets of a home’s design help make a house beautiful and comfortable, windows and doors are at the top of the list. Both provide natural light and protection from the elements, but that’s only just the beginning, according to the experts at ACRE Windows & Doors.

Serving residential customers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, ACRE Windows & Doors has made a name for itself as an industry-leading Andersen certified installer and dealer  since opening its own doors in 2008. Owner Valerie Manfred says the company is particularly proud to offer the Andersen line of products.

“When we opened, in 2008, new housing construction was at an all-time low,” Manfred says. “Andersen had decided to start a replacement configuration of their new construction windows, and it was perfect timing. I have a construction background and happen to have a few connections with suppliers, people connected with Andersen, so after a few conversations, it just made sense to go in this direction.”

From there, ACRE Windows & Doors has grown to become the largest Andersen certified contractor in the tristate area offering Andersen replacement windows and doors. To put it in numbers, the company has installed more than 20,000 Andersen windows to date. Of the many benefits offered by these high-quality windows and doors, Andersen products come with an unbeatable transferrable warranty.

ACRE Windows & Doors has expanded from one year to the next, in part by continually refining its product offerings. One popular new choice for customers has been oversized floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that transform a living space. These moving glass wall systems, which allow for indoor/outdoor living, “aren’t just for Florida anymore,” Manfred says.

Modern design enables many of these new doors to offer superior energy efficiency. A replacement door can beautify a home and also qualify the homeowner for a tax credit for energy-efficient home updates. In fact, ACRE Windows & Doors offers a bevy of products that could qualify for such credits, making the coming months an ideal time to upgrade these home features.

“With energy costs as high as they are, new windows and doors could be a huge benefit to customers next year,” Manfred says. “Honestly, with interest rates through the roof, customers feel the need to stay in their homes. I fully expect our industry to stay very busy.

“Not only will upgrading windows and doors save on energy bills, but it can also change the look of your home,” she continues. “It can make a home more comfortable from a temperature standpoint, whether in winter or summer. Newer energy-efficient windows will make a dramatic difference in making the comfort level in a home better, plus you don’t have to have air conditioning or heat running constantly.”

While supply-chain issues continue to impact the home remodeling industry, ACRE Windows & Doors has continued to succeed thanks to its commitment to transparency and customer service.

“Supply chain has been a major issue—it’s just the way of the world right now,” Manfred says. “We’ve found that honesty is the best policy. As long as customers know what to expect, they are happy.

“We’re a one-stop shop,” she continues. “We are a full-service company so in the event there is ever an issue, or something arrives damaged, or if there’s a problem at any point, ACRE will take care of our customers.”

Staffed by entirely in-house installers, the company’s team can complete most projects in one day, depending on the scope of the work.

“Subcontractors work in multiple places, and how can you be proficient in doing window and door replacement if you’re doing something different every day?” Manfred says. “Our people are trained by us. I personally have been out to Andersen certification training, and I have made sure anybody going to do a job for us is working to Andersen specifications. It’s a very high standard.”

ACRE Windows & Doors offers an array of high-quality products at various price points, meaning it has options to suit any home. In-home free estimates ensure personalized service and precise measurements by an industry professional. Every window and door is custom designed to fit each customer’s unique space.

“We try to make the process as seamless as possible,” Manfred says. “When a customer contacts us, we follow up to find a time for one of our product specialists to come out to their home to go over all the different products we offer and help them select the best option for their home.”

After customers sign on to work with the company, the process moves to the installation department and a crew member comes out to take final measurements. At each step of the process, and even after the installation has been completed, Manfred says her team prides itself on meeting customers’ needs.

“We really want to do what’s right for our customers,” she says. “We don’t want to push them into something that’s not going to fit their needs or their home. I really think that customer service is the key to our success. That’s how we ended up where we are. We’ve reached the point where many of our customers have done multiple projects with us, which tells us we are doing it the right way.”
