Through education, expertise, and a finely tuned patient experience, CG Orthodontics helps patients of all ages build the foundation for a prosperous future.
When it comes to resolving complex problems, particularly those pertaining to one’s health and overall wellness, expertise matters. After all, a clinician’s expertise in addressing an important health matter could mean the difference between a deeply satisfying outcome and one filled with lasting regret.
Formidable expertise is why so many patients in Bucks County and surrounding areas entrust their smiles to CG Orthodontics, which has offices in Richboro and Yardley. While CG Orthodontics employs digital scanners, super-high-quality imaging, and other advanced diagnostic technology to guide treatment planning, as well as cutting-edge tools to streamline the overall patient experience, the practice’s greatest strength lies in its people.
Founded by Cathleen George, D.M.D., CG Orthodontics boasts a team of compassionate professionals whose education, training, and commitment to ongoing self-improvement have helped them stay at the pinnacle of their profession. Patients rely on the practice to not only perfect their smiles but also to help them build the foundation for a prosperous future.
“We’re here to improve our patients’ smiles, but we do a lot more than straighten their teeth,” Dr. George says. “The work we do here is going to affect their self-confidence and so many other aspects of their lives. That’s why we make sure everyone who comes through the door feels taken care of, appreciated, and prioritized.”
CG Orthodontics treats patients of all ages; adults account for as many as a third of the practice’s patient base. Treatment options include traditional wire-and-bracket braces and clear braces, as well as Invisalign clear plastic aligners, which create the perfect smile by gently and gradually aligning a patient’s teeth. The orthodontists customize each treatment plan to suit the patient’s lifestyle, goals, and comfort level.
Dr. George’s interest in dental medicine began at a young age. Her experience of working for an orthodontist during high school piqued her curiosity in the field. After receiving her bachelor’s from St. John’s University in her native New York, Dr. George earned her degree in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She then continued her training through UPenn’s prestigious postgraduate program in orthodontics.
Dr. George has valued education throughout her career—not only for herself, but also for her team, her patients, and her peers. She leads The George Interdisciplinary Study Club, in which local dental specialists come together to share knowledge, research, and best practices in the planning and delivery of treatment. Previously she taught the next generation of orthodontists as an instructor for Penn Dental Medicine’s Orthodontic Program.
Fellow orthodontist Jordan Cogan, D.M.D., shares Dr. George’s thirst for knowledge. Born and bred in Northeast Philadelphia, Dr. Cogan received his bachelor’s in biological sciences from UPenn, and went on to earn his dental doctorate and orthodontics certificate and master’s in oral biology from the Temple University Kornberg School of Dental Medicine.
Drs. George and Cogan share another commonality: Both are diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Such board certification essentially means the doctors have displayed a commitment to excellence in orthodontics, in terms of both their knowledge and their clinical skills.
“You see a lot of general dentists offering Invisalign as a service, as opposed to someone like Dr. George or myself who elects to do two to three years of additional training [in orthodontics] to give the best results possible,” Dr. Cogan says. “If you need heart surgery, are you going to go to your primary care doctor or to the surgeon who has invested the time and energy to become an expert in that particular aspect of medicine?”
Patients also appreciate CG Orthodontics’ devotion to the community. Aside from building healthy and aesthetically pleasing smiles, the practice’s leadership strives to enhance the community’s health in other ways. For example, CG Orthodontics sponsors or otherwise supports many local sports teams, youth groups, and community events.
Drs. George and Cogan’s education, training, and proficiency in state-of-the-art technology set them apart from many of their peers. Yet it’s the outcomes and the patient experience they deliver that truly place them in a class by themselves.
“We value our patients, their treatment, and their time,” Dr. Cogan adds. “We make ourselves as available as possible; our main phone number is textable, so patients can text us about any emergencies, concerns, or basic questions. The expertise we offer is critically important, but so is the kind of accessibility and immediacy we provide. We’re going to do everything we can to meet patients where they are, because that’s what it takes to have an impact on their lives.”
