Unforgettable
Be it a wedding or a special event of any kind, Bluestone Country Club excels at creating unique experiences guests will remember forever.

A wedding is a time for love, growth, and, for those who are hosting events to celebrate the occasion, a little bit of stress, too. That’s why it is imperative to find the right venue and the right team to orchestrate the most memorable day imaginable.

This is where the team behind Bluestone Country Club in Blue Bell comes in.

The Country House at Bluestone, the events arm of Bluestone Country Club, offers myriad spaces to fit events of any size, from its large ballroom that comfortably seats 275 with room for dancing, to its two smaller rooms which seat up to 60 people, to the outdoor patio space—perfect for a cocktail hour or any open-air reception—that can accommodate up to 200 guests. A lush and lovely formal garden is perfect for outdoor ceremonies.

Spaces throughout The Country House embody a modern vintage feel, with tones that are “neutral, but warm to the touch,” according to Michelle Coyle-Shank, sales and event specialist with Bluestone Country Club. This, she says, is the perfect starting place to embellish in any number of styles, because “whatever you put into the space will match well.”

“We think about how busy so many people are, with careers, and life in general, and a wedding can add more stress,” Coyle-Shank says. “We want people to know they’re being taken care of. We want them to know that we are here to take away as much stress and anxiety as possible. … I’ve been in this field for 11 years; utilize me, I am here to help.”

The robust team is organized, ready, and eager to handle just about any request.
“It’s important when you’re finding a venue, to know that should something happen the day of, there is a team that will offer a warm welcome and provide any answers to any questions and take care of you,” Coyle-Shank adds. “Our goal is to make you feel just as you should on the day of your wedding.”

Divine Dining
From petals to pedestals, no detail goes overlooked. At the end of the day, when it comes to an event at Bluestone Country Club, Coyle-Shank says guests are likely to remember one aspect more than any other: the food. This should come as no surprise considering the fact that Bluestone Country Club is owned by Scott Dougherty, the restaurateur behind two of Montgomery County’s finest dining establishments: the Blue Bell Inn, which is located just down the road from The Country House; and the Copper Crow in Horsham.

Both restaurants cater to private events, each with its own unique spin. The Blue Bell Inn, which is known for its classic style and historical significance, has a largely traditional feel, though recent renovations have created more opportunities to accommodate guests craving a more casual experience. The Copper Crow has a chic yet welcoming air, with lighting and décor that lean toward mid-century modern. While the vibes of the restaurants are profoundly different, fantastic fare is the common thread that binds them together.

Coyle-Shank feels privileged to advocate for a team that is so committed to upholding high standards across all three properties.

“We focus on food as a venue just as a restaurant would, because our food is from the exact same purveyors as the Blue Bell Inn, and that’s a great establishment,” she says. “We take pride in what we order and offer just what you’d get down the street, just on a larger scale.”

Packages are available for those looking to offer traditional selections, though menus can be made as individual as the couples themselves.

“We have package options, and we have customizable routes that can work with any dietary restrictions of not just couples but of their guests,” Coyle-Shank says. “We offer complementary tastings for couples where they can try samples of entrees, salads, desserts, and surprises. Since couples can’t taste every option we offer, our biggest thing is we hope they’re tasting quality.”

While many favorites abound, Coyle-Shank says guests “cannot go wrong” with the filet mignon entree. Coyle-Shank, a New Jersey native who went to school in Maryland, says the crabcakes—available in many forms including hors d’oeuvres and entree—have been described by prior guests as “spot on” and “just incredible.”

Keeping with trends, the venue also offers an array of interactive stations, which invite guests to take an active and personalized approach to their dining experience. Guests can choose from chef-attended stations such as those for mashed potatoes and fries, sliders with a variety of customizable toppings, and even hand-rolled sushi.

Bespoke Dreams
Whether someone is just starting the planning process or coming to the table with a full suite of dreams, the team at Bluestone Country Club can accommodate.

“This is an investment in something you want to make you happy, for you to be proud of, and for people to talk about after,” she says. “We want to make guests feel here as if they’re being taken care of like they’re in their own home. … This [day] represents the start of your family.”

What better reason to choose an unforgettable venue staffed by a team capable of customizing the experience from beginning to end?

“When you work in hospitality, and you work taking care of people, other people can tell if you really enjoy what you do, and I know that we do,” she says. “I often say to new brides, when I’m giving a tour, ‘I hope you can tell that I love what I do.’ I will only work for a place where I can easily talk about the great food and the great atmosphere, and you have both here.”

Exceeding Expectations
The Country House at Bluestone received “Best of Weddings” honors from The Knot in 2024. The event marked the venue’s fourth time to receive such accolades, thereby earning it a place in The Knot Hall of Fame. Such high marks are to be expected considering the glowing reviews from brides who held their weddings at The Country House. Two recent examples:

From Antonia D.: “The day of the wedding was so seamless and stress free for us. I could not thank Bluestone enough for everything they did for us, and we will always cherish our wedding day. The grounds are beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. I had a lot of guests coming from [New York] being huge foodies, [and] I was nervous about the food in the beginning. Bluestone exceeded our expectations.”

From Christina W.: “When we walked through the front doors to the fireplace, we knew this was the place; everyone there was so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. This place is magical, and that’s what we wanted our day to feel like, but every aspect of our wedding day exceeded our expectations. … Bluestone has become an extended family for us, and we cannot express enough how grateful we are to have had our wedding here.”
