Welcome to Weatherstone
Residents of this Chester Springs community enjoy options and amenities to suit any lifestyle
by Phil Gianficaro

A gentleman walked into the office of Christine Lawson, site supervisor for The Hankin Group’s Weatherstone single-family and townhome residences. The man, Lawson initially assumed, was merely someone interested in literature or other information regarding the breathtaking development in Chester County.

But what the man was, in fact, was a living, breathing advertisement for Weatherstone.

“He said he’d been looking at homes in other developments that day, but was so impressed with what he saw in Weatherstone,” Lawson recalls. “He said, ‘Now, this is a community, not just a development. It has a sense of community, with parks, sidewalks and walking trails. It’s not just a neighborhood where houses were plopped down in the middle of a field.’

“The way that man described us is the perfect description of Weatherstone.”

A cozy village nestled in the rolling farmlands of Chester Springs, Weatherstone is located near the intersection of Route 401 and 100 in West Vincent Township, four miles from the Downingtown Turnpike Interchange (Exit 312) and just minutes from Route 202 and the Main Line.

Weatherstone is a shimmering jewel of 273 residences woven throughout 300 acres, 100 of which are dedicated to open space. Established nine years ago, the community integrates home and community living with six landscaped parks, swimming pool, tennis courts, clubhouse and half-mile walking trail. The Henrietta Hankin branch of the Chester County Library is but a short walk away.

The crown jewel of Weatherstone, however, is its residences. Consisting of five models of 190 single family homes, three models of 66 villas and four models of 17 estate (or larger) homes, the community was constructed with The Hankin Group’s renowned commitment to quality, value and craftsmanship in mind.

“The people who live at Weatherstone are extremely happy,” Lawson says. “When I started here four years ago, people would stop me and welcome me to the neighborhood. In all that time, I’ve never heard a negative comment from any of the residents about their homes.

“I’ve been in this business for 30 years and have worked for four builders. I’ve never seen anything like this; people are genuinely happy with their choice of home.”

Something for Everyone

All homes are two stories and include fireplaces and either attached or detached two-car garages.

The single family homes are Alexandria, Raintree, Sundance, Waverly and Weatherstone. They range in size from 1900 to 2,925 square feet, and in price from $369,900 to $439,900. Each is available in three or four bedrooms and two and a half baths and also features a covered porch.

Kitchens include granite countertops, 42-inch cabinets with crown molding, stainless steel appliances. Bathrooms measure 12’ by 12’ tile flooring and vanities with Corian countertops. The master bath features Corian countertops by DuPont, Kohler faucets, and a steeping tub with a separate shower.

“It’s an example of the attention to detail that The Hankin Group tries to show its residents,” Lawson says.

The villa homes are named Georgetown, Wexford and Yardley. They range in size from 2,024 to 2,434 square feet, and in price from$394,900 to $438,900. Each includes three bedrooms and two and a half baths, and also a covered porch and deck.

For families seeking a much larger home, Weatherstone offers its magnificent estate homes: The Alexandria Grand, Sundance and Waverly Grand. These spectacular homes range between 2,420 and 3,467 square feet, and are priced between $469,900 and $509,900. They are offered in three or four bedrooms and either two and a half or three and a half baths, and can accommodate up to a three-car garage.

The Hankin Group also has plans to build at Weatherstone a town center with shops and a restaurant, similar to those at Eagleview, its sister development community in nearby Exton, which features luxury condominiums.

Two years ago, Scott and Adrienne Boyance were home shopping. Both work from home and were in the market for a larger place. When they finally decided to purchase an Alexandria estate home in Weatherstone, they didn’t have to move far. They had been living in a Weatherstone single family home since 2006.

“We were happy with the single family home, but just needed a bigger place,” Adrienne Boyance says. “The smaller model wasn’t suitable for two offices, and we wanted a big yard. We enjoyed Weatherstone, and the Alexandria was just what we needed.

“We don’t have children, but I know a lot of people with families enjoy living here. The elementary school is across the street, and the middle school and high school are about 15 minutes up the road. And there a quite a few retired couples here who downsized because they wanted a big house but not a lot of property to tend to. … Weatherstone has a home for just about anyone’s tastes.”
