At Dublin Terrace, residents enjoy an active, stress-free lifestyle
by Bob Craig

Finding a new place to call home can be a challenging task for anyone. For those ages 55 and older, however, identifying a desirable new living space has the potential to become particularly daunting.

Dublin Terrace, a premier rental community located in Dresher, is an attractive option for an increasing number of residents. Dublin Terrace, a Bruce E. Toll community, provides a vibrant, active and social lifestyle and eliminates the responsibilities of home ownership.

“People come here to enjoy a sense of community,” says Jacqueline Schultz, property manager for BET Investments Real Estate Investors and Developers, which owns Dublin Terrace. “It’s a very easy and care-free living environment.”

Dublin Terrace consists of 12 buildings housing a total of 192 apartments, 16 apartments per building. Each of the apartments is a corner unit, which allows an even flow of sunlight and cross ventilation through the residence. Dublin Terrace is BET Investments’ first 55-and-over active adult living community, and its first to be built from the ground up. Although there are several layouts to choose from, each living space has a distinctly comfortable look and feel.

“Regardless of whether it has one or two bedrooms, each apartment feels like a house rather than an apartment,” Schultz says. Every unit also has a balcony, which gives residents the feeling of having a front porch.

Residents also find peace of mind in knowing that Dublin Terrace provides 100 percent maintenance-free living. In fact, management and support staff are on-call 24/7 to assist residents with maintenance-related needs. “Residents enjoy all the comforts of home here, without having any of the responsibility of upkeep,” Schultz says.

Since its grand opening less than two years ago, new residents from across the region have flocked to Dublin Terrace.  Apartments have been “filling up at a nice pace,” suggests Nancy Mateleska, regional property manager for BET Investments. “The majority of our residents are selling their homes, and we try to do everything we can to accommodate them,” she says. “We have a peace-of-mind guarantee. We will hold an apartment with a deposit while they sell their homes. … It is an easy process to rent an apartment at Dublin Terrace. They can pick out which unit they like from what’s available, then we fill out an application and we are ready to go.”

As soon as new residents are “ready to go,” their luxurious new lifestyle can officially begin. The amenities at Dublin Terrace are on par with what one might expect from an upscale hotel, according to Mateleska. In addition there are very spacious floor plans, each one equipped with a large laundry room, extra storage, plenty of closet space and an ample kitchen complete with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.

While the apartments are beautifully designed to ensure comfort, Dublin Terrace also prides itself on offering a stately clubhouse as the centerpiece of the community. Residents have 24-hour access to the clubhouse, where they are welcome to socialize. Coffee and tea are available all day.

Also available is a large flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi access and a community room. The clubhouse serves as the social hub and general meeting place for all community affairs. Residents can bring their friends and family to the clubhouse, according to Mateleska, and can also rent it out for private parties.

In addition, the clubhouse hosts events such as movie screenings, bingo and trivia nights, as well as yoga classes and holiday parties. “We are always coming up with new opportunities, including guest speakers,” Mateleska says.

Staff members also create opportunities for excursions. “We just organized a trip to Peddler’s Village,” Mateleska says. “We’re also planning a day trip to New York City.”

The clubhouse has an outdoor saltwater pool and state-of-the-art fitness center, in which residents can further tap into their active lifestyles. Just beyond the clubhouse is a beautiful courtyard lined with park benches where residents can sit back, relax and enjoy the day, all in the company of their newfound friends.
