Alliance Cancer Specialists
Dr. Hibbs, a board-certified medical oncologist with Alliance Cancer Specialists, says personalized care means treating the whole person, not just the cancer.
Many patients assume expert cancer care is only available at large hospitals or academic centers because of how those institutions are portrayed in ads and media. At Alliance Cancer Specialists, we provide the same advanced treatments, clinical trials, and expert care—right here in your community. Our patients benefit from shorter wait times, less travel, and personalized care that larger hospital systems often cannot offer. Our providers’ time is not divided between research and teaching like the larger centers; we are dedicated to patient care full time. For community oncology practices, patients are 100 percent our focus.
Personalized care means we do not just treat cancer; we treat the whole person. Each patient who walks into our office is unique with their own beliefs, goals, and sometimes stressors. It is important to take these into consideration while guiding them through their cancer journey. This can be by providing flexibility with their treatment to accommodate childcare, arranging rides to treatment, or providing home meal deliveries through local groups we partner with. Because we are a more personal practice, we can get to know our patients as people, not just diagnoses. Receiving a cancer diagnosis and going through treatment can be very scary. Our compassionate staff, nurses, and providers create a comfortable environment and get to know the patient on a more personal level, which can help to ease this fear.
Why is Private Practice the Future?
Healthcare is becoming increasingly corporate and impersonal. Patients deserve options that keep them at the center of care. Being independent allows us to make decisions based solely on what is best for the patient, not what aligns with a hospital’s network or quotas. We are very lucky to live within an hour of a major city with multiple great tertiary centers, however when you are being treated in one of these larger institutions you are expected to use the surgeons, radiologists, etc., in their systems, without knowing all your options. We have the freedom to collaborate across health systems if needed, refer appropriately, and focus purely on patient-centered care.

What We Want Patients to Know
You do not have to travel far to get exceptional care. We follow the same national treatment guidelines, have access to the same cutting-edge therapies, and have a robust, growing clinical trial program offering practice-changing treatments to our patients—right here in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Our participation in clinical trials gives patients access to promising therapies without needing to leave the area. We are part of national research networks, like the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, and attend leading oncology conferences just like academic physicians.

Cancer treatment is deeply personal and often long-term. Having one physician and one team guiding you from diagnosis through survivorship builds trust and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. Also, most community hematologist-oncologists are well trained in treating multiple disorders, both cancer and non-cancer. I have several patients whom I am actively treating for several different conditions that at a larger institution would have required them to have three separate physicians.
